Hello,
I’m Brittney! Currently I am a Doula, Massage Therapist, Lactation Counselor and Student Midwife.
This page is an opportunity for my supporters, to help me bring change to the maternal health system and to our community.
There is an innate drive with in me to become a Midwife. I know that my life’s work it dedicated to making change in the lives of the families and communities I serve. For me that starts with birth. Over the last 13 years, I've had the honor to watch families be born. I see what's missing for so many black women, including myself.
Representation matters so much for black families, as well as having options in birth. Black families should have access to Black Midwives and home birth. I want to help other Black Women become Doulas, Birth Assistants and Midwives. I want to help bring back the Black Birth Worker. I want to change how home birth is looked at. I want my community to have options. Would you help me bring these things to fruition?
Soon in this journey, I won’t be able to take on Doula clients, so that I can attend births as the assistant/primary midwife. During that time I will need to make up for that income some how. That’s where you come in.
I know its’s a big ask for you to help me on this journey, but I can’t give up on this dream no matter how long it takes or how much I may struggle. I truly have a vision for myself, my family and community.
